Since it’s nearing the start of 3rd quarter, it the time of year to start thinking about your holiday marketing plan. You’ll want to start earlier so that you have time to create graphics, content, and overall strategy in order to succeed thisgh upcoming season. I’ve created a checklist that can help you streamline your strategy planning that will detail several steps and key things to remember to make your best appearance during this holiday saeson.

Important Planning for Marketing

The first thing I’ll discuss today is going to be the important things to remember during your strategy planning process. First, your posting needs to be consistent throughout the duration of your marketing campaign. During the holiday season, it’s going to be important to be seen as frequently as possible while making sure you can handle creating and posting the content regularly. If you’re too busy to DIY your marketing campaign, consider hiring it out to a full service marketing agency. Secondly, your content should be themed for each holiday that comes. For example, having a spooky theme on posts close to Halloween is a great way to get more engagement during the holiday season. Lastly, depending on your business structure, you should post deals or even giveaways to boost awareness.

Marketing Strategy

Now for the strategy portion. Allow yourself some time to sit down and focus on your goals for the holiday season. Are you wanting to get more sales? Gain brand awareness? Or maybe raise awareness for a cause you care about? These are all things you need to know before you you start nailing down specifics.

One you’ve determined your goal, you’ll need to determine how much time you can set aside to work on your plan. Can you only set aside one hour per week for your marketing? Do you think you need more that? Are you open to setting a budget so that you can hire help for your marketing to take advantage of the sales season?

Content Creation for Marketing

Finally, it’s time for the content creation. Once you’ve decided where to market: social media, search engines, and your own site. Images tend to do the best when it comes to conversions, so you’ll want to make visually appealing graphics to go along with your posts. You can use these to theme your content to the holidays. For example, you can use play on words, colors, or images that indicate the holiday. One example  is to make a graphic that says “Deals so good it’s scary” with cobwebs and spiders to give it the spooky, Halloween feel. For winter, you can use blues and whites to signify the winter, cold feeling. While for autumn/thanksgiving you can do reds and browns.
